Interview? No problem!

It looks like I will officially be interning at Youth and Family Services, working with Project Aurora. I'm going to be working with young ladies and woman who are either pregnant or are already mothers, with substance abuse problems. This is going to be a whole new realm for me and I'm excited for the challenge. After working in Foster Care for the last year, I haven't had the best of experiences with kids bio parents. I have seen the product of substance abuse and domestic violence when it comes to the kids and working with these women is going to force me to see things from a different perspective. Many of these women are in the program trying to reunite with their kids who were taken away from them by CPS. I'm hoping to learn a lot from this field placement and I look forward to it! I even get a stipend! (of course it's not much, $750 for the year, but it's definitely better than NOTHING!).

My Mom is still in Nicaragua, coming home on Monday. We got an email from the group yesterday and they are doing well. I'm so proud of my Mom for participating in this adventure.

Disneyland in 7 days with Jeff, Davey, brother Ryan, Mom and Dad. Countdown has begun.
